Canaima and Angel Falls

Placed in the Gran Sabana and surrounded by the magnificent table-mountains, Canaima is perhaps the most spectacular place in Venezuela. The lagoon with its five waterfalls is unique. Located nearby is the highest cataract on earth, the Angel-fall, with a height of approximately 1000m.

The boat trip to the Angel fall through the rapids, passing alongside the soaring walls of the Auyantepuy, is a real adventure. Walking behind the water-curtain of the Sapo fall, is literally breathtaking.

Canaima and Angel Falls Tour (3 days/2 nights)

1st Day. Canaima
After the flight to Canaima in a six-seater light plane you can settle in at the guesthouse. You have the rest of the morning free to explore the beautiful beaches and the indigenous community.
Following lunch there will be a boat trip across the Canaima Lagoon to see its breathtaking waterfalls. Then, after a short hike, you will have the opportunity to walk behind the curtain of water of the Sapo falls and bathe there.
After dinner you can retire to a comfortable room with private bathroom or enjoy the company of fellow tourists in a nearby bar on the Canaima beach

2nd Day. Angel fall
Following breakfast, we take a short walk to the port of Canaima. From there we take the dugout canoe up-river between the imposing stone walls of the Auyan table-mountain into the “Cañón del Diablo” (Devil’s Canyon). After beaching the canoe we hike up to the foot of the Angel falls and you can swim in the natural pool.
After a tasty barbecue you will spend the night in a hammock in a jungle camp overlooking the Angel Falls.

3rd Day. Canaima
After a last glimpse at the Angel fall, we boat downriver in the canoe and make a stop at the “Pozo de la felicidad” (Pool of Joy) for a swim under the waterfall. When we arrive back at Canaina, you will have time to buy souvenirs or relax for a while. Lunch before taking the plane back to Ciudad Bolivar.

Please note, that the weight-limit on the flight to Canaima is 10kg per person. We have a storeroom at our hostel Posada Don Carlos, where you can safely store the rest of your gear.
