Los Llanos Tour Itinerary
This excursion to the Venezuelan Plains, called Los Llanos consists of two days and three nights and includes four safaris. From Mantecal you will be driven to the camp Rancho Grande, where you will be welcomed to a comfortable cabin and have a nice dinner.
Los Llanos Day 1:
The first safari starts after breakfast and will take you by boat on the Guaritico river, where you can see turtles, monkeys and iguanas in its gallery forest. After returning to the camp, lunch is served at the riverside. You can rest for a while before the second safari, this time by Jeep. There you will try to find the ant-eater and see many chigüires (capybara) and wild pigs.
The sunset in Los Llanos is an awesome experience. Delicious dinner and second night at Rancho Grande camp.
Los Llanos, 2nd day:
The third safari is on horseback, the traditional way to enjoy the seemingly infinite landscape of Los Llanos. During this ride you have the opportunity to see hundreds of birds in a great variety of species. Relax after lunch before your fourth safari by car. You will bear witness to the abundant wildlife of Los Llanos and try to capture an anaconda or a cayman. For sure we will catch some piranhas. Typical “llanero” dinner and your third night at Rancho Grande.
Before saying farewell to Los Llanos, you will be served an abundant breakfast, then be taken back to Mantecal, to continue your journey.
